St Nicholas Catholic Primary School had some space available in their front entrance area and asked if we could design and install some seating and in particular a covered waiting area with seats for parents when the weather was not good. After our initial site visit we were able to identify an ideal solution and put our proposals to the St Nicholas Catholic Primary School management team. The project commenced with the installation of a bespoke polycarbonate roof shelter with pressure treated timber uprights and joists with additional noggins in-between to give extra strength and support. We completed the new waiting area by installing fixed bench seating to the rear and end walls. Finally we used an adjacent recessed area to install two half-round log planters with a linked bench in-between, for use when the weather was better.
All of the equipment was constructed using only the best Scandinavian 5ths kiln dried redwood, with radius corners to prevent splinter hazards, and pressure treated with Tanalith® E, giving a 15 year guarantee against fungal decay and insect attack. By offering a bespoke, custom made service we were easily able to accommodate their original request and you can see the finished result at St Nicholas Catholic Primary School by floating your mouse pointer over the images.
